"Random Thoughts for Valentine's Day, 2004. Today is a holiday invented by greeting card companies to make people feel like crap." - Joel Barish, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
How true... Wouldn't you agree?
And it is such an amazing coincidence that the start of the new decade has our Chinese festivities coincide on the day lovers commemorate their love for each other. An encouragement to those swinging singles out there: Hey, at least we don't get to spend our V-Day alone this year! *Smiles*
Anyways, I just had my reunion dinner with my family for our Chinese New Year's Eve and I don't feel like celebrating. Partly, because the exams are coming and I hardly touched anything. But mainly, it's the typicality of CNY that drains the festive spirit out of me. Going to houses and houses to visit relatives of sorts... Seeing kids running around in their new, bright red clothes... Stuck in the car for at least 30 minutes and the only source of entertainment is a quarrel that involves something about monetary blessings packed in a red sack and a very bossy mother. Hmm... The horror of CNY fails to surprise me.
As for Love, I am going to forgo it and proceed with my life. I have a feeling I may be setting my sights on another girl who is also kind of cute and quirky in her own unique way. Hmm, I feel that I might have reveal too much information.
But, you know, the mind is sometimes a stubborn one. So... Time will tell.
...
...
Time will reveal the secrets of the world to the possessor.
In the meantime, be Love.
